Can I claim Medicare rebate and private health insurance?
Unfortunately no, as this is considered “double dipping” and you will have to decide if you would claim the session via Medicare or your private health insurance (if applicable).
How much will I get back from my private health insurance?

That will depend on your health cover if psychology treatment is covered and the amount. It is best to check with your individual health insurance provider.

How much will I get back from Medicare Rebate?

From 1st July 2024, Medicare rebate for Clinical Psychologist is $141.85 per session. However, once your Medicare threshold has been reached for the calendar year, your rebate will increase. You can check this on Medicare via the MyGov website.

How many session will I have with my psychologist?
Medicare currently provides up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year under the GP Mental Health Care Plan.
Do I have to see a GP for a referral to see a psychologist?
You don’t need to have a referral to see a psychologist if you want to fund your sessions privately. You won’t be able to claim a Medicare rebate for the session.
"Gloria is a skilled psychologist who delivers compassionate care of an exemplary standard. She is both empathic and professional, and assists people on their journey to recovery with aplomb. I highly recommend her service, for those who are clients in search of support, as well as those who are referrers in search of a well trained and experienced clinician. "

– Dr Antonia Planinic, Psychogeriatrician

"Gloria is passionate about helping her clients to be their best selves, while working with her I have seen this time and time again. She values kindness, justice and respect which shine through in everything she does. She is the kind of person you want on your team. Her ability to provide support in more than one language is a demonstration of just one of the countless ways she contributes to the community. I have never felt judged by her, only welcomed. Her style and knowledge are always refreshing."
